Store bought ice cream

I think I've had them all. Tried most of the Haagen Daz, Ben and Jerry and other premium types, even gelatos but I have settled on Blue Bell. Its pretty darn good. Just had a bowl of plain old vanilla that I thoroughly enjoyed. Reasonably priced too. Anybody know of other good ice creams that wont break the bank. Not drinking tonight so, I had to get my fun calories by another method.

Can't beat my late granny's homemade. Never understood that. However I do think the high end brands are better than Blue Bell. Some people prefer the less rich/fat flavor.

My favorite is the blue bell moolennium crunch. It's got a little bit of everything in it. Around $8 for 1/2 gal.

Blue Bell, last I read, decreased quality. A lot of it isn't "all natural " anymor. I guess at one time it was their selling point?

And it's made in Texas so that right there is enough for me to not buy

I agree AC. I still remember my grandmother and aunt making homemade peach ice cream and loving to eat it fresh out of the maker. I don't eat too much frozen treats these days, but when I do I prefer Pineapple sherbert.

I don't eat ice cream often but the 'gelato' made by Bryer's is pretty **** good.

A co-worker of mine swears by Schwann's. I guess they deliver to your home. I know, it's not store bought

No, just enjoyed a bowl of ice cream from a "non-premium" brand and wondered what other non-premium brands were good. I used to like Breyers many years ago but not so much now. I prefer Publix over Breyers.

Blue bell is good (at least time I had it which has been probably a year). Never heard of or tried Telenti, but may give it a whurl if I ever get in the mood to buy ice cream. Probably buy it once a year as I don't have a big sweet tooth, and don't want to be called chubby by rock fish.
