Either lower SC or upper Ga.The thermocline events start in as early as June and run into fall at times. The offshore stuff is normally worse as well as further south. My worst August dive was 48 degrees about 15 years ago off Ft Pierce.
I had 58 degrees water in August outside of Saint Augustine 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 years ago....I cant remember the year.....Just remember the Kingfish tournament in St. Aug. was a wash....Small fish....I wonder why we don't have those big Hogs in our area...
Very cool videos...Thanks for posting. You should start you're own video thread. I was reading the comments from another one of your videos and got a chuckle outta the "why didn't you free dive that? It's only 150ft" comments. lol. And it looks like you do well with the paralyzer tips. Is it a lot more efficient than floppers or slip tips? Or just personal preference?
I learned from the best of the best, they all shoot this way.Every single piece of equipment is tested to it's max due to the depths, repetition, conditions and production required.Other guys in other areas do things differently but none of them really compare production wise.
You post some cool stuff and some strong work for sure!
What tip is that, a JBL? Or another brand?
When I used to shoot for $ I never really thought of using those tips because I was concerned about the fish shaking it if they didn't stone....I was amazed to see it work so efficiently for you, my hat's off for the eye opener.
JBL,thanks but I know of half a dozen guys who outshoot me pretty regularly. The guys who I learned from mostly but 1 guy from S.Fl who also freedives commercially.
