I would post this over in the Tropical Forum but it seems very quiet over there.
Looking for anyone who has spent any time in San Sal and there thoughts on the surge at the marina. I have heard it is bad but curious if others feel the same way and during which winds is it worse.
Also if anyone has any recommendations on accommodations near the marina that would be great.
Looking to spend some time there this next summer (June), for a few weeks.

We are contacting the Sands/San Sal hotel that has the 2/2 rooms right by the Marina on Tuesday to look into reserving a place from the last week of May thru early July.
We will be on the Ryco in my signature, "Tango".
I'm also going to send you a few questions via IM.
What Dragon Bait said is spot on. Extra lines and polyform fenders
not sure what size Roy was using, but the ones I was using were about 10 inches but you could also use any kind of chafing gear. I saw others use wood stacked up and what appeared to be pieces of fire hose slid over their lines

Thank you, Ray.
Put a phone call in today to Sands and left a message, going to try them again tomorrow.
I know it's the bahamas but, an other numbers to try?
also be prepared for the mosquito swarm near sundown, I recommended getting those nets for over your head and plenty of bug juice
Have gone back and forth with Hilton about the rooms and possibly a car/golf cart for our stay. He has been very helpful and once we get our dates down we will be good to go. Right now looking at the month of June...
Also have been in contact with Michelle at Riding Rock. Also very helpful and again once we settle on dates we will reserve the slip. Anyone looking at riding Rock be aware of the $15 per day water charge and $30 per day electric charge. Working on getting those metered possibly as obviously everyday we will not be using the water and not staying on the boat the power should be less, but it is what it is.
Also open to ideas on where to go after San Sal. Right now looking at Cat then the Exumas/Harbour Island/Abacos or Cape Eleuthera/Harbour Island/Abacos. It's a very expensive trip so the Exumas might have to wait till another year.
