Hello. Im new to this forum. I have a 19 Cobia with a V6 inboard. I was told my boat would make it across with my 40 gallon tank. Im planning way ahead. Im looking to go the first week of June 2015. Anyone else trying to go? I live in NC and are planning this trip. Also do you think I will make it if I take an extra 6 gallon tank?

A boat your size can do it with the right weather window.
You say you cant swim? That would scare me to do this type of trip but if you're up for it go for it.
June - August seem like the best months weather wise.
I am planning to head over but not sure on any dates yet.
Im looking to go in july towards the end i have a 20' welcraft v6 inboard also gets 3 miles per gallon at 34 pmh crusing speed, I gonna to have 4 ppl total but looking for couple of boaters to join would like some input since it will be my first time trip? i live in goldsboro nc also so ill be towing my boat to miami...
Monday August 3rd Im pulling out of NC to head that way. Staying a full 7 days. Scheduling at work pushed my vacation back. If anyone wants to go then or change their vacation to that day it would be nice.
On a flat calm day, with no thunderstorms or mechanical breakdowns, your boat could possibly make the trip. The weather can and does change in an instant or you could have a serious boat related issue. I would not advise taking that risk! What happens if you break down? Do you expect another boat to tow you back to Florida? That would ruin your trip, plus another families trip. Seems like the perfect boat for a Fl Keys vacation. Much safer and you have the Florida Bay plus near shore reefs to explore.
pm me for rental info.
I won't make any plans until I see the weather the week before. But I'll keep the dates in mind
