Why so many healthcare job researches in Florida ?

BallaCoiPersiciBallaCoiPersici Posts: 8,384 Admiral
I subscribed on Monster engine and at least 8 on 10 job researches in Florida are from healthcare companies (although my skill don't match with healthcare applications).
A lot of old retired people from everywhere or Florida is an hypochondriac State :grin ?

P.S. some suggestion about job research engines for highly skilled people, for Florida or at least for the Southeast US ?

Good health care jobs are part of the cyclical spreading the wealth of our dying "Baby Boomers".
Once the "Boomers" all kick the bucket, good health care labor wages will slowly diminish.

You think the number of elderly in America is going to decline? When?

Yes, all subsequent generations are smaller..... I am at the tail end of boomers (1956)....when my generation is gone....all others will be smaller.

Yes but the tidal wave coming across the Mexican boarder more than makes up for the decline in American births.

A common misconception - the population of elderly is projected to double by 2060

What's your professional skill set, I am mostly retired, however I do take temp gigs if it pays well and convenient. My work history is in the power generation industry, but I just accepted a gig providing a Java based front end for doctors linked to their primary enterprise sql database, kinda fun, but cross referencing is killing me, medical terms ugh, power is a lot easier for me.

Health care industry has lots of non-health related aspects.

I'm a strategic project/program manager, in insurance industry.
I'm the link between business and IT, my historical background is IT and my vision is business functionalities.

About healthcare researches many of them could be mostly related to my skill, with a general point of view, but is a particular industry that requires specific skills as "must".
Anyway I sent some resume but never had answer (well, I'm not a US citizen nor I have the green card, they should spend a sponsorship. Even this probably counts).

Ballak, the software/database interface I am writing is for a group of health insurance providers allowing their program/project managers to directly interface with doctors. Lots of opportunities with your talent, however sponsorship may prove difficult. Lots of Americans would happily take a gig in Florida to get out of the snow.

    Yes, I can understand them.
I also could try on the NE (or West) with more opportunities but I like the South, more close to my attitudes (fishing, hunting, less liberals :grin, etc.).

But coming there would be a big jump for me (and family) and if I do it, want do well.
The research continues, I have time until retirement (then I'm coming anyway, if still able to walk alone :grin)

    Why not ?
Maybe the "less" is enough, it depends on "less" amount (our salaries aren't so high).

Jokes aside I should cover my a**, I have a family.
Having the power to rewind the the time, no doubt: a bag and going to the airport.
But too easy now, I had to have the vision in the right time.

    We know that :)

Would you take a position here for what you make there? Sponsorship and relocation would be paid for by the company, of course.

Greg you know not what you speak of. H1B1 will help nada and no pay for relocation. Professional management is not a low salary wins type of deal, references and a proven track record is what counts. Typically a low salary request gets dismissed without review.
  • BallaCoiPersiciBallaCoiPersici Posts: 8,384 Admiral
    That's the problem.
More the skill researched is high and less the companies can risk, the sponsorship and relocation cost so much.

More easy for a non skilled/junior worker. He can start to sell hamburger at McDonald and then try to grow, if he's a talented guy.
I should looking for a job in a US corporate here and then ask for relocation. But here the job market is completely frozen.
I'm already lucky to have a high professional job.

Not sure, considering the midterm elections results.
BTW here we already are a socialist country, at least for lazy people.
And about food no problem, I'm a good cook and I'll also bring the wife with me*, she's a great cook.

    * well, not really sure about that. The southern girls are so hot :grin.
