My good dogs had a present waiting for me when I came home yesterday. Looked just like this one. Good thing I already had gravy made!

    Nice cat, Maine ****?
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.

Did you know armadillos can swim? I never knew that! Every morning at 4 AM my dogs get me up to go outside and pee. I was out with them and they started chasing something across the yard. Next thing I know its heading for the pool! Splash! At the time i didnt know what it was since it was so dark outside. I went in and turned on the pool light. There was an adult armadillo swimming around (not very gracefully) and the dogs were speechless! They just stood there in disbelief watching this big animal struggle as i got the pool skimmer and pushed him toward the edge, then flipped him onto the deck. he took off never to be seen again! If i hadn't rescued him I'm sure he would have drowned and swelled up! UGH!

My parents and grand parents ate them. Fortunately my generation was saved. My granddaddy did say they would cage and fatten them up before eating them in a stew. My mom said she doesn't want to talk about it.:grin
