KOA Marco/Naples

I mainly fish Charlotte Harbor however my wife and I are leaving the boat at home and bringing the kayaks to the KOA in mid November. Any tips on areas to fish? I already have a large supply of bug spray.
Thanks
Pat

I fish Rookery Bay at the end of Shell Island Road (not very far from the KOA) and do real well with snook around the mangroves.

Launch your Yaks at KOA and travel west. Can be all kinds of good fishing on either side of Henderson Creek right out into Rookery Bay. One of my favorite places to fish. I have hooked up a few Tarpon in there too. Bugs are not bad unless out after dark.

Heading down tomorrow. We have been out the last few weeks in stumps pass and fishing has been Ok. I am excited to try a few new spots in your area. Any last minute info or hot bait would be great.

Had a great trip. The Koa was very nice good location clean cabins and clean bathrooms.Put in on tuesday at the koa. Paddled west and got into cats, paddled farther and caught more cats. Finally one small red fish towards the end of our day. Wednesday put in at the kayak launch by the marco bridge. Paddled east and under the small bridge. Caught some giant Jacks on ultralight tackle. One snook and a couple small reds. fished under the bridge on the way back and had a couple break offs. All in all a good trip and will do it again now that I know a few spots .

Sorry about the cats. My wife and I fished there last Monday and only caught one nice red, two small reds and two small snook. We did catch a number of good size jacks. Hopefully it will get better as the Gulf water cools. The tides we fished last week were high and slow moving. I think that hurt our fishing.
