Blue claw crabs caxambus area

Anyone have some pointers of trapping these in the caxambus area?

Replies

  • Yep, Forget about it right now...
Stone Crabs are what you'll find there. Gonna have to soak the traps as long as you can. Couple days is good.
You can catch them at most any seawall just not a Mess of them unless you've got Soak time or lot's of traps.
Blue crabs are layin low as the water temps drop.

You want blue crabs - put a kayak in along Tamiami Trail between Collier Seminole State Park and US-29 and paddle towards the coast. You will find all the blue crabs you want and can scoop them up with a bait net while seated in a yak.

I have a canoe. Are you talking about the small creeks that run along 41 as you head to everglade city. Scooping can be fun.
