Sight Fishing TB 9/28/14

Got a chance to fish with Willie "Jack" Jackson in hopes of getting some sight fishing in on the +0.3 low tide late in the morning. The outgoing tide and the recent amount of rain left the water quite stained coming out of the Little Manatee River but we were able to work up a small slam including Jack's first ever redfish.

Once the tide got low, we were able to sight cast and found some reds and snook laid up but no deal. I wish Jack threw fly. We also got on some jack crevalle, flounder, and ladyfish. All fish were caught on Mirror-dines, Lil' Johns, and Aqua Dream 1/4 oz. green spoons. We got a dozen live shrimp but their life span was cut short in my live well (5 gallon bucket....I need to get a Big Bubbles for the 6 times a year I may throw live shrimp), so the live bait thing didn't pan out.

It will only get better and sight casting on fly will become my #1 priority. Enjoy the pics!
