    boy, you are talking about the "athens of Florida " named one of the best little downtowns in the country and home to zagat's choice for best restaurant in the orlando area

    if you have the bucks eat at cress a favorite eatery of emiril and renowned for great fare

    hmmmm ten you say
    well besides cress, there's tony's an italian restuarant owned by an albanian family, el taco amigo a truly authentic mexixan taqueria, cooks cafe for great lunch, bill and franks brickhouse for good burgers
    that's all i got, maybe eastshores will chime in

    and there's a small hotel named the artisan downtown said to be nice, but we send folks coming to town to hontoon landing to stay

    See, frank is a stand up guy.

    Artisan is too rich for my (coorporates) blood but the one down the street is a bit cheaper. Though they might make me stay at the clarion, blech

    The Mexican place is up my alley. where do the college girls hang out? :)

    but you can find a few in one of our THREE craft beer bars downtown or the more mature ladies hanging out at the elusive grape wine bar

    I have never seen live bones, but I know that they are often used by rich people to decorate the interior.

    I have never seen live bones, but I know that they are often used by rich people to decorate the interior.

    Staying at the the Deland country inn near downtown. I will see what is within walking distance for eats and find a good brew or two after.

    not a true comparison, swamphouse is a restaurant that hires young women as waitresses, hontoon landing is a family run hotel on the river
    different animals, but come on up and spend a weekend on the water and see for yourself

    rock fish, swing by cafe davinci while you're wandering around, nice atmosphere and live music
