Ft Myers bottom fishing advice

Experienced bottom fishermen from Charleston, SC headed to Ft Myers Oct17-20. Want to snapper/grouper and tarpon fish primarily. Looking for some advice of where to start looking for bottom and where the bite will be in Oct. What is the best bathymetry chart for the area? We have access to a 26'World Cat and a 13'Whaler. What is a good wreck/bridge to catch goliath on? Also looking to catch some snook in the evenings and at night. Boats in a canal off the Caloosahatchee. What is the best inlet to use to get offshore? Also are there tarpon in inlets closer than Boca Grande? Would be willing to trade a free ride for numbers and tarpon fishing assistance.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

October is a little early for shallow water gags so I would say start in at least 60 foot, look for rock piles or certain kind of structure. Red grouper will be closed then but you can still catch and release if you want. Just look for hard bottom in 60+ foot. You will find plenty of snapper and other white meat fish on the same bottom as well. There are some monster goliaths on the Sanibel causeway. Also some on the old phosphate docks too.

Try the ledges 35-40 feet (5-7 off, due west) straight out of Redfish for Gags all dpends on water temps, use some chum while anchored up might bring up some decent mangs so keep a free line handy, with tiny pieces of squid.
