No it is "Bald Peanuts." Otherwise every southerner will give you evil eye. like asking what type of (soda or pop instead) Coke do want.  They are spicy and tasty. Plan on making some i have a bag of jalapenos and some habaneros on my plats.

I've heard folks gush about how great they are for years. A couple years ago I was riding the motorcycle thru NC or north Georgia and stopped at a roadside vendor selling boiled peanuts. I was not impressed by the taste and threw almost all of them out. I did enjoy the 1/2 hour or so I spent talking with the guy so I figured it time and money well spent. Still...is it possible he just had crappy product? Try it again? Or is it more of an acquired taste...There's very few things I don't eat but these were just plain bland and mushy.

Unfortunately some take cans of boiled peanuts from Sam's, dump them in a pot and pass them off.

The best boiled I've liked had a beer or two added to the boiling mix.

We've done them in the pressure cooker with Tony Chachere's seasoning. Very nice flavor.
