SI 9/25: Kissed by a snook

The snook were blowing up like cannon fire around me this morning and I couldn't get bit. Finally this big girl gently sucked my chug bug down without making a sound. I wondered what was going on as she lay there motionless with my lure in her mouth in 1 foot of water. But, when I bowed up on her it was on! I was by myself so I had one hand on the trolling motor remote and one on the screaming rod as she drug me around the bay. When she squeezed into the landing net I went from nervous wreck to pure joy. Ain't fishing fun! It's hard to tell from the selfie but she measured at 41". My biggest snook on top water.

Way to go! I feel your pain, my biggest Snook came by myself at night. Trying to hold a 43" fish and take a selfie is't easy, I ended up with some blurry silver and half a face. Only other pics I could get was the snook laying next to my rod on the boat.
