Pensacola/Big Lagoon Redfish (video)
I regularly post reports on the Pensacola Fishing Forum and now I want to share some of my report on other forums.
The morning (Sept. 6) started off with a bang when I hooked into a bluefish. As I was turning on my camera some type of very large fish (probably a shark) ate the bluefish. I fought the big fish for about 5 minutes until the leader failed. I tied on another super spook jr and quickly hooked into a nice slot red. Soon afterwards I hooked into another slot red, and another, and another. The top water action was steady until about 8:00. At 8:15 I started throwing mirrodines and soft plastics and landed 2 more upper slot reds.
Final count: 10-12 upper slot reds, 10-12 small trout, 2 huge bluefish, some annoying skip jacks, and a 20 inch barracuda. All fish were caught on a bone white super spook jr, a mirrodine 17mr, and a slayer ssb on a quarter ounce stand up jig head.
