Couple Questions on Port Canaveral?

Planning a trip to fish the beach off Port Canaveral next week and have never been in the area. I'm assuming the best ramp to use is the one next to Sunrise Marina in the port? I saw some talk about the ramps possibly being shut down? Any shallow areas or anything I need to keep an eye out for on the way out? Also would it be worth it to troll the beach for kings this time of year or is my timing off? Thanks for any advice

Not a camper but the jetty park campground is well used and its just a short walk from the beach. The new boat ramp is open is right next to Jetty park. Without bait present there will no king or tarpon they follow bait schools and it seems to me the bait has left us for now except for the mullet run. Fishing is always good catching has been off.
