    Mullet that live/feed over sandy bottom are pretty good (& can be great), but Mullet that live/feed over muddy bottom are terrible (& taste worse than mud)
    As a result I don't think anyone eats them west of ~P'cola Bay...
    There should be NO Commercial Fishing for any fish species considered 'Over-fished' , 'Undergoing Overfishing' or Subject to Recreational Seasons, Limits, or Closures... Game Fish Status IS the Answer !!!

    Yes, be sure that mullets are from clean water and right bottom (sandy, rocky) before eat them.
    Unfortunately they like so much mud and cesspool waters.
