Are there any Central FL Boat mechanics on here? I have a question and will take it to you to have a jackplate mounted. Situation is I have a carolina skiff 14, the guy before me had put a longshaft on it when I need a short shaft on it. My question is which mini jacker or manual jack plate ( not trying to spend a fortune on a jack plate on this boat ) will work, and if it raises it up enough to plane out good, how will i get it down when I'm on a plane for smoother riding or whatever the case may be? Thanks in advance. Looking to buy it / get installed asap

Take the spacer out replace the shafts and you have a short shaft...
Many things to do.
Knots to be unraveled

You just tripled his search load. In hindsight, maybe a backplate is his best option
Josh...not to hurt your feelings...but that year/model was when OMC was about to go belly up...because their motors were way down in quality. They were then bought by Bombardier which made big improvements over time (E-tech etc)
I would not sink much money in a 14 year old OMC .
