That looks delicious. Do you traditionally cook them rolled up like that on skewers? We are getting ready to bbq tomorrow. I'm doing a few racks of spare ribs and momma is making the potato salad, cole slaw, and deviled eggs now.

In Italy they are known as BVE (Big Verde Eggs).

    Italian sausage? Mild? Hot?

This is our traditional (Lombardy, not hot) sausage called "luganega" and this is the more comfortable way to cook it.
This was the first round, them we had some other meats and we've closed with melted provolone (just to finish the third bottle of wine :grin).

    BGE stands for ?

A ceramic cooker that only a privileged few are allowed to own. All others are jealous and will make disparaging remarks about the BGEers.

Please note the Weber Kettle in the background as well as the offset smoker. I can cook with the 99% as well.

    Ah ok, thanks for explanation.
No, we have a walled grill, feeded by pieces of wood, with "pioda" (a thin and flat natural rock very good for cooking).

Actually there is screen there, but the bulldog would keep ripping that section out. Put the grid there to stop him. Grass is overrated.

No, he would scratch either the door screen or the section next to the door, which you are seeing. I replaced both repeatedly before installing the grid.

Ballack, do you cook up onions and peppers to go with your sausage?

Not this time but frequently we grill vegetablas and mushrooms.

P.S. I have to change my nickname, the right one is Ballak but many call me Ballack (ball lack). This doesn't sound good :grin.

Makes me want to go back to Italy. We have spent a lot of time in Italy, mostly in the Cities. We have spent a great deal of time in the French country side, and it is FANTASTIC, I would bet Italy would be the same.
  • BallaCoiPersiciBallaCoiPersici Posts: 8,384 Admiral
    Italy is better :grin.
Jokes aside, Italy is an amazing land, but we should respect more our lands and our history.
For this French, although (sorry for the immodesty) they can't compete with us in many think, are smarter than us.
We should learn from them how to manage, for many aspects, our Country.

That label on the wine looks familiar, is maybe from neat Vesuvius? Something that translates to Tears of Christ (LaChrima Christi)?

I'm jealous of your cooking area. I love that tile roof.

Very close, is from the Avellino area, and take his name (greco di Tufo) from the little Town of Tufo.
Is made mainly with greek (greco) grape and, in same case, with a little bir of "coda di volpe" (fox tail).
Greco is an ancient kind of grape of Southern Italy and, as you probably well know, the terrain quality gives particular and different carachteristic to the wine.
So the Greco di Tufo is very different, for instance, from Calabrian withe Ciró although they are both made with the same grapes.
Lacryma Christi (right: Christ tear) is very similar but is made mainly with Coda di volpe grape with a percentage of greco grapes.
In any case are both superb wines, good for seafood both also for meats considering their strongness (13,5/14 % alchool).
IMHO are great wines, just a kinda behind to the Sardinian Vermentinos.
