SI diving and fishing 8/23-24

The past two weekends the viz has been awesome! Top to bottom in the 70-90' range, it's what I like to call "Keys clear"' both days we started out early trolling the 90' bar for kings with Pogy and Bonita strips behind a variety of different color sea witches. Majority of the bites came on the red/white w/ holographic flashy strips added. Saturday we had 4 kings landed up to 12lbs nothing special. But when we jumped in to do some free diving the ocean came alive! We were using Pogy and Bonita chunks to chum w/ and two 4" disco balls suspended at 60'. The big kings were coming in and taking chunks really quick, we weren't able to get in close enough to make any shots unfortunately -_- . On the flip side we were able to have big mangrove snappers rise up off the bottom to about the 60' range, 40-70lb amberjack along with a big bull that had 7-9 cobia no monsters. I was able to make a shot on a cobia and two AJs this weekend. No tanks Saturday and 1 tank on Sunday. There were some monster seabass we were pulling up Sunday on H&L. we couldn't keep them off!
