Rainbow River

The girlfriend and I were kayaking on the rainbow river a couple weeks ago. During it I couldn't get over the number of bream and shad that were in there. I can imagine with the tubers and folk on the weekends it wouldn't be worth dealing with especially since I would probably drag my aluminum bass boat up. However I was just curious if anyone ever fished there much and what sucess they had?

Seemed like if the fishing was decent could make a fun trip for the girlfriend and my 3 year old. Since both my girls would be able to swim when their attention span ran out.

I just floated the Rainbow last Sunday on a tube. Been many years since I've done it for some reason.?

There are some serious bass in there. Especially in the late winter when the spawn starts.
While it's still warm and the water is cool , why not ?

The rainbow is a great fishery .. its also good on the ****
to all the way to lake ! water is real clear on the rainbow in
my experience the bass can get spookey ! If your set up
with braid I would run a little longer leader . You didnt hear this
from me but bouncing a worm around can pay off big ---- REAL
BIG !! Shhhhhh ..... dont tell nobody !!!!!:wink
