I had an amazing time out on the water today! The current was perfect and I was able to dive down now that we bought the doc's freediving ear plugs.... Helped with the pressure.... We got to the ramp at bayfront around 6:10 a.m. and we tried to meet Rexgear because he was taking his boat with a crew of friends and we just met him over at a mutual spot and started to grab up our lobsters more quickly cause the guys were anxious to get grouper ;p So we ended up at the end of the day with I think it was 13 bugs and so that makes us shy of 11 because it was 4 of us... Rexgear got there but there was just lobsters and too murky and we didn't see much except the snappers... With the rushing of the guys I still managed to quickly shoot a school master snapper and then hop on the boat and move on to the next spot... At the next spot I focused on trying to catch a snapper and caught one and missed a nice cero mackeral :rolleyes which stinks cause I love cero macks.... Again the guys rushed to another spot quickly and ohhh my it was hog heaven LOL!!! I saw schools of them and we were doing the eni meanie minie moe routine because we wanted to shoot the biggest out of the bunch.... I saw a huge one and I couldn't go down because my bouy got tangled with our boat motor so the guys beat me to it..... After untangling the mess again my bouy gets tangled and the guys are justing cracking up.... Again I go untangle it for a second time and finally I get to go down to make my hit on the school before all the guys shoot them all away.... I managed to shoot 3 at that one spot and I think our friend Papo managed to get the biggest hog.... Rexgear and his crew got there a little late so I'm not sure if they were able to see the school of hogs before they split...

We'll then we went to another spot and I think by then Rexgear had to leave and we saw there was nothing at that spot so we went to check out another new spot and again it was like we hit the jack pot and it was filled with huge hogs and grouper heaven and huge muttons and so many different species and some really nice bugs we picked up there.... I just know that I was so happy that at that last spot after my husband went to shoot something I look behind me and from far off I see this huge red grouper coming my way so I start getting ready for the dive and I was telling myself... Donna remember to go real slow and just stay still once you got a target on him..... So, after that he was mine and then as I was celebrating more came out from the wood works and it seemed like that spot was candy grouper land :) I was happy that I got the biggest grouper and beat the guys..... heheehehee :willynilly We all had an amazing time for the 4 of us.... A day to remember!
