7 SEC teams in the top 25, and Auburn plays all of them.

(I'm counting Auburn as playing all 7 since they'll be playing against themselves in scrimmage. )

Now that is some SOS for sure.

Question is, will they all still be top 25 by the time they're played? Granted Bama will be by the time the iron bowl comes around. Look at all the shakeup in the SEC last year. It'll be interesting for sure.

Good luck, y'all will need more than 2 miracle plays to get to the big dance this year...thats for sure.

FYI: I'm not being facetious, that is an **** gauntlet!

preseason ranks, are what they are. I take them very lightly. But in this case, its a good read at what's to come, which is a very hard road. I don't see another run. Auburn played way beyond their ability last year. Still not completely sold on Gus's system (i have a gut feeling it can be figured out and once it is, its done). I think Alabama has a shot based on their SEC schedule. Not really sure about LSU. We "lucked" out and got the East teams that are expected to perform well this year.

Aubrun caught lighting in a bottle last year. They won't get back this year with or without that schedule.

    Like I said.

Can't whine about playing in the SEC then quietly reap the benefits. lose once or twice and you guys still go to the big show.

not whining. Just pointing out a tough schedule. Actually prefer it. Would rather see Auburn play good games week in/week out. Even knowing that means a loss here and there.

A two loss SEC team is not getting in over a zero or one loss conference champ. Not going to happen.

Agreed Not now-- unless that SEC team is the champion.

All they have to do is make it to number 4.... Playoff baby.

LSU went with a 2 loss in 2007 over a 1 loss champ Oklahoma BTW.

Dan Patrick talked about this the other day.

If you look back on the past 2 seasons and look at the FINAL AP poll at the end of the season, and just remove the top 4 teams from both years (8 teams total). SIX out of the Eight were not in the top 10 preseason polls, and incredibly enough 3 were unranked all together.

One of the many reasons why I love college football.

Ultimately it is your overall strength of schedule that should matter-- and if your conference is strong enough, you don't have to even mention categories like "out of conference"strength of schedule.

not sure about that. I think the selection team is going to try and get as many conferences represented in the play-offs as they can. So when a lower tier conference has a team go undefeated, watch them go ahead of a one loss team from a power house conference.

I don't think that's right. Unlike basketball, there's not enough teams in the playoff to try and have as much inclusion from all conferences as possible.

But who knows. My main prediction is the 4 team playoff will have more controversy then the BCS. Even if it doesn't, they'll make something up to justify all the sports media.

The only controversy that will occur will be the 4th/5th team.

I wish they accounted for Margin of Victory.

Ex: FSU beating top 10 clemson vs beating them 51-14

Agree with your last statement . The fact that there is a top 4 ( which means there might be 2-3 more teams close enough to help generate fan bases with more controversy )where in the past with 2, there might have been only one more team in the picture.

That's been my thought as well.
