Sad situation, but don't blame yourself. When people get to that point, sometimes even trained experts can't help them.

I was watching a documentary on Mark Twain the other night and they quoted him as saying, about his own attempt at suicide, something like,
"I was never ashamed of trying, but often disappointed I had failed"

In searching for that quote, I see a lot of dark quotes from him on suicide.

sorry to hear this. It happens too often. Not to take away from what you are sharing but my son who is 20 now, lost a childhood friend of his last year, he still has a very hard time with it, as do I. he was always over. Great kid, just went down the wrong path and did the same.

That is terrible. In my career I went to several suicides and quite a few "attempts".... It is hard to imagine (for me anyway) life getting that bad that it seemed like the only choice.

I always viewed it as a permanent solution...to a temporary problem.

I was hoping the pain would subside, but it hasn't happened yet.

I can't stop thinking about what her last desperate moments were like, as I was sleeping peacefully less than 200 yards away.

Sadly, and strangely, this has become an all-to-common event in our quiet little neighborhood. I don't recall exactly when I first met her, but she couldn't have been more than about 8 years old.

So sorry... : ( On 12/19/13 a friend and co worker went to the local park and shot himself in the head. He was a bit of a drinker and a definitely had some issues but nobody saw it coming. It just sucks, really sucks.

I have witnessed it personally by someone very close. It is confusing , painful and makes you angry. All at the same time.

Tough to sort out. Really takes time to adjust .
