Is anyone else subjected to the terrible 'pop up' adverts that pop up off to the left side of these pages?

I had to click on internet explorer to see what all the fuss was about. Yeah ,it's bad lol. The only suggestion I have is...become a little bit more tech savvy or have your kid set up your internet browser for ya.

Internet Explorer 11 blocks pop-ups with no add-ons, maybe you need to be more tech savvy or get a kid to set your computer up?

If you are using chrome install Adblock plus from the chrome store(just search)..

If you aren't using chrome then you're hopeless anyway.

If they bothered me so much I would find out who makes the decisions and email them.

hint: look in the magazine

If enough people send emails something might be done.

Do you know if the person in charge of the forum ever on the forum?
I remember seeing a couple over the years but they came/went pretty fast.

I'm thinking the owners of this website are major shareholders of Adblock and are collecting money on both ends. Why else wouldn't they just simply correct the problem? If they are driving all the users here to block the paid advertising then it seems the advertisers are not getting their monies worth.

Am using Google Chrome & it was updated in July, but still got the stupid Pop-Up ads here & only here.

Until I added the blocker suggested in the sticky. Now every page is slowed down by the adblocker having to intervene & sometimes pages lock up.

May have been quicker & less trouble to have just clicked to close Pop Ups?

Am also still occasionally plagued by stupid godawful aggressive Cabelas ad taking over page completely.

Which one is giving you an issue? I've never had a problem with them. I won;t use chrome though

Chrome sucks the chrome off trailer balls. Firefox+ABP works great. I do miss the "Bad Idea" T-shirt girl. I turn off ABP once in a while just to check them, er, I mean her out.

They won't go away all together, but I'm hopeful the more intrusive ones will be corralled. Maybe next week.

Can you share anything with us? In terms of why it's become this way, why the difficulty in stopping or slowing it down, or maybe what happened that it's going to get better.

Not sure myself. Outside of my pay grade, but we keep sending these up the ladder and I think maybe they understand some of these are way too intrusive. Not promising anything but got a whiff something may improve.
