wife saw his uncle interviewed and supposedly he was an extremely experienced diver, been doing it all his life. Had enough air for "one more bug" and went down by himself.......

I used to run out of air on the bottom all the time but was never very good at holding my breath so I's start to surface the second I felt resistance through the regulator. Was also never deeper than 65 feet. If you get good enough at free diving you can train yourself to hold your breath so long you just black out and when that happens under water it's over.
