Hunted with this guy for over 20 years.
Good Hunter, Waded thru Swamps Hip deep, stomped Cottonmouths, Jon boated across the Alley at Dark thirty.
No stopping him . We did good and paid our dues.:cool
Fast Forward. He's living in his Cabin in a N. Fla, Cornfield. Soybeans some years. You can see and shoot 400 yards off the Porch or back Deck.:)
Farmer calls him almost daily...you gonna let that deer eat all my corn ?
Everybodys on Def-Con 4 watching the Crops.
My X Pard is like a Kid, Shooting them most every day. He cleans them up and Folks get lot's of free venison but Dang, everybody up them shoots them.:machinegun
I think after workin Sooo Hard for a Deer in the Glades for 20 Hard Years maybe he's makin up for lost time..:huh

Just to be able to hunt without being wet all day, not having to cut cottonmouths and pygmies in 1/2 with a machete, is heaven on earth.
Your friend has found paradise. Good for him.
Wet as heck on our place, PLENTY OF SNAKES, yellow flies & mosquitos aplenty, with a healthy dash of redbug-tick surprise to keep it all interesting.
Of course we are growing trees not corn so seeing them at "400 yards" ain't happin' unless he's in a chop or on the road.
90 Deer a year while the crops are in the ground. No Sport in it for me.
He keeps wanting me to come up and Sniper shoot some. I've did it a few times but it ain't Hunting....
Ain't quite the same when hunting morphs into harvesting..
