Anyone traveled to costa rica for rooster fish?

So iv'e had a rooster fish on my bucket list for quite some time now and was wondering if anyone on here has went and caught one. If so what lodge did you stay at how was your experience? Any tips or pointers will be appreciated planning on doing the trip sometime next year

Why don't you just go after the Florida Rooster, The (Jack crevalle).
It's the same fish, fights just as hard. You can catch jacks until your arms fall off and still be home for dinner.
There was a time when I wanted to go to down that way for Snook and Tarpon but now I think we have more fish then they do.
This time of year you can catch all three off the beach and you don't need a passport.

I caught a lot of roosters in Puerta vallarta

They catch lots of roosters in Baja & Mexico too.........
