Part-Time Maintenance Technician

OCCUPATION PROFILE
This position requires periods of time walking, standing, bending, lifting and the ability to work independently. This position reports directly to the Fisheries and Wildlife Biological Scientist II, and shall provide equipment maintenance assistance to the Naples Field Office. Anticipated work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, one day per week.

MAINTENANCE DUTIES:
Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on FWC trucks, trailers, ATVs, swamp buggies, airboats, generators, and assorted small engine equipment.
Checks and changes fluids on equipment at regular intervals.
Identifies repair needs and locates required parts from local vendors.
Transports equipment to and from the field, office, or repair facilities.
Diagnoses and repairs trailer light issues.
Welds, fabricates, or repairs fabrications on agency equipment.
Greases hubs, U joints, and bearings regularly on agency equipment.
Safely operates all agency equipment.
Assists in equipment recovery and extraction from the field.
Competently uses hand tools and power tools
Reports all safety issues to direct supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in the maintenance and repair of trucks, ATVs, swamp buggies, airboats, or small gas engines. Current Florida driver’s license required. Welding experience preferred.
