Any difference other than price?

Big difference, especially in melting temp and reaction to plastic and rubber. Do not use petroleum jelly where dielectric grease is called for

Feel free to use dielectric grease where Vaseline is called for.

Just be sure and report back to let us know how that works out for you.:grin

I use Vaseline on my trailer to truck lights connector, GPS plug, trolling motor plug, cushion snaps, car battery terminals, trailer lights and trailer light bulbs. Did have one issue with plastic around depth finder falling apart, but, not sure if the Vaseline was the cause.

Have never heard of using Di Electric grease to help start a fire... Nothing starts faster than a cotton ball saturated in Vaseline...
