Went out solo today, picked up some sardines from Gary on the way out hitting the inlet around 7:30 to flat seas. I was strictly dolphin fishing today, I had a dozen weedless squid baits I made up the night before and I was ready for business. I heard the bite was way off shore , so that's where I headed, my first fins came in at 1,300ft in scattered weeds, I had a full squid set out with a ballyhoo deep, picked through about 6 fish and kept three decent size schoolies, after about an hour of that, I decided to go deeper, got to about 2,300ft (23 miles) and pulled out the binoculars for a quick look around and saw 5 or six birds working an area, started heading towards them, as I put my first deep ballyhoo down , the line starts pulling, fish on! pulled a nice bull in the boat , I went to look for the birds , but I lost them :banghead. I started heading towards the last direction I saw them , pulling out the binoculars, frantically looking for them and found them:grin, who needs a radar! Put out a three rod spread of squid and started heading towards them, as I passed, all three rods go off, I keep the boat in motion, tightened each reel and brought one in at a time, when I got the last one to the boat, I broke out the spinning rods and tossed out a live sardine, it was fish on! I did this for the next hour or so, after I hit my limit, i left the last one in the water, i saw a boat with a blue hull coming way, I was waiving him in and honking my horn, I figured if they hook up , they can keep the school with them, but they turned to avoid me, I hope they where not thinking I was telling them to stay away:huh
Anyways , I let the last one go, cleaned up the mess and started heading in , as I got closer to the inlet, I noticed some pretty nasty storms brewing between me and the inlet, wasn't sure what i was going to do as it covered Delray to Palm beach on the Radar. Then all of sudden I saw a clearing between the two storms and saw the Martini tower pop up, I didn't waist any time and headed between the two, it got a little hairy with some cool stiff wind and some hard rain , but punched thru and made it in safely.
All in all was a great day of dolphin fishing
Final tally 15 for 16 Dolphin keeping 10.

I bet the weather was nicer 23m out than on land. We had some nasty nasty ***** blow through here yesterday.
We went out about 11, did some jigging, the storm starting coming so we tried to go around it, next thing I know we are way south of Martini and the thing went from heading E to SSE, went all the way down to Boca inlet and in! lol Never did that before.
