July Fishing in Palm Beach

Looking to get hooked up with some Florida fish mid July. It's been a life goal to land a 6'+ shark so that is definitely on the agenda. Will mostly be fishing from the beach. What other fish will be biting? Bait? tips? Thanks!

go to any of your local drift boats and pick up a few bonitas. pick a beach, and use a surf board or something to padel your bait out 25+ yards depends on the beach. sit back and wait

I will be bringing a kayak down with me. And only 25 yards? I have heard a couple hundred yards.

What other fish are going to be biting this time of year? I hear snook but I know nothing about catching them

With the right tide there is great snook fishing from the beach. If the high tide is in the early evening you can sight cast to them as they are backlit from the sun. If it is rough, an old school chicken feather jig works, if it is calm a 3-4 inch shallow running plug.
If you just want to stay busy waiting for your shark, there are jillions of whiting right in the trough. Use a 6-8lb outfit, small sinker and a piece of shrimp - and don't over cast them. They are waaay closer than you would think.
And you may want to try going farther north towards Hobe Sound

Thanks for the advice! And why do you recommend going farther north?

Because it is less crowded and I have caught some seriously big snook there. My biggest (39") was around 1100 am on a whiting rod with 8lb test and no leader. I am not familiar with the rules on where you can put in a kayak - or if there are any. You can walk south on HS beach quite a ways and get away from the swimming zone.
