I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.

Do we really have to stoop to this crap guys?
It's just sad and making everyone look bad.
THERE SHOULD BE NO COMMERCIAL FISHING ALLOWED FOR ANY SPECIES THAT IS CONSIDERED OVERFISHED.

Tell your commie buddy a number to go troll a commie board and quit being an ignorant nuisance here on a recreational board and then you wouldn't look so bad...

Source of which? I thought I "cited" source in my original post. Council April presentation....

Edit: finally found it in Apr. briefing book. States were estimated to catch 1.9 million pounds of the quota during federal and state season....

Source for good catches after the federal season ended? This forum, in the regional fishing report sub-forums.

Source for MRIP mean estimate was within a few thousand pounds of LAs mean estimate?

Edit: finally found it in the Oct 13 meeting stuff; its a LDWF presentation. My memory is slipping. MRIP mean estimate was 403K lb; LA was 346K lb; 16% difference in mean estimates (error bars were obviously much bigger for MRIP since its not red snapper specific like the LA survey).

Council briefing books are available online at gulfcouncil.org. April seems to be hosed, tho. I had it downloaded.

I get site not available, just like I posted earlier.

I'd like the mode of the data set the mean was derived from if you have it, please post.

what site? I posted a link to the SEFSC's home page, and it works fine. SERO is working fine.

But, those weren't what I was talking about in the post you've quoted. That was a Council briefing book, which can be accessed from the Council's ftp server - look for the Oct. 13 briefing book.

But I doubt details like that would be in a presentation. And what would be modal? fish weights? Otherwise, its angler trips, catch per angler, etc.
