That's crazy. He's VERY mild tempered and seems like a good kid. If that would have been some of the guys I know, that guy with the air horn would've been in trouble, haha!

Did you see his 2nd video? I don't know which one would annoy me more - the air horn guy or the group of trespassers.

Lord, I apologize for every evil hearted muttering when my buddy drove up on me during a turkey hunt a couple years ago. I promise to never say another cross word if you promise to never deliver me to Pennsylvania!

NE PA is insane with hunters. The proximity to Philly, and the sheer number of people in the area combined with the short gun season makes it tough to find uncrowded ground. I've hunted up there once and I won't go back. Western PA is better, but the folks there are just as poorly behaved and probably a little crazier when it comes to safety, especially when you get closer to Pittsburgh. And just like here in FL, their Game & Fish agency is severely under budgeted and under staffed to patrol effectively.

Does the LANDOWNER allow these neighbor's access to the Land??? If it were me and the hunting was decent, I'd offer the landowner a few bucks to sign a lease agreement giving me authority to monitor and enforce LEASE rights and access to the land...

Once I have that authority, assuming these clowns don't have written permission..game on...

That AIR HORN thing can be used both ways..like at 2AM outside that residence. But really..this video shows HUNTER HARASSMENT..use it against them

That's amazing seems just about like Corbett only it's a buggy crashing thru the still hunt area with the people yelling and radio bumping. I know some of us on here know his pain.

your lucky buggys go in the overgrown still hunt, non rotational area...otherwise you'd never be able to walk in there.

Still produces more deer then any other management area

I had a chance to bow hunt N West Pa 20 some years ago and it was awesome. Seen a ton of deer everyday and nobody in the woods. My buddy who brought me up there decided to go bac k for the gun opener. He said he got in the back of a truck with 10 other guys before daylight and got dropped off at a stand. As soon as it got light he said deer came running from everywhere and it sounded like the start of a war. Within an hour he said he seen dozens of guys wearing plaid suits driving the deer. He managed to get a buck but said he'd never go back again. That's how they hunt up there.

Couple years back FWC chopped off a big chunk of the Dog /hunt Section up in Blackwater.
First morning I sat in one of the Bottoms about 15 Dog Hunters got out with Airhorns and set up Standers and did a Drive right by me on foot.:shrug
I had heard the Horns a good part of the morning from far away and It sounded pretty strange not knowing what the heck that weird noise was till they all walked under me blowing them Boat Emergency Horns and banging Pans together.:willynilly
Once I figured what they were doing I stood up and got ready to Wingshoot.
I ain't letting any Buck run by without taking a shot.
Didn't work for any of us but I still got a good story to tell...:grin

I have hunted western PA between Erie and Pittsburgh on the opening of guns season for the last 31 years. In all that time I have only missed one season. I have never had people with air horns and such but I have never hunted a small strip of land between two developments that are sure to have people who see a deer as pets. Big difference between PA and FL is many people do hunt. They just recently stopped giving the first day of gun season (always on a Monday) off from public school. If you are on non-posted land or public ground you are likely to see someone else. We have land there and choose not to post it. Each year the same old man wanders down a trail mid-morning. We are glad to see him still at it. We also hunt surrounding public ground. People are there and so are the deer. PA harvest is around 350,000 deer of which around 275,000 are from the two week gun season. A few years back they change the antler restrictions to 3 on one side as a minimum so the days of sounding like a war zone have turned to a skirmish. Got me thinking of next year already.

Idk I don't have any problems walking in there where the buggys haven't been...or on any other WMA's that don't even allow buggies.

Do you have troubles walking in the woods if its not on a buggy trail?

I have hunted NW PA for the past 13 seasons. It is heaven compared to romp-n-stomp FL WMAs. Apples to oranges.

Nobody has mentioned the guys little caption at the end of his video. "I called the PA game commission 3 times this week and the only thing they said was they had no one to send out!" I guess LE has trouble getting officers out to take care of problems just like this everywhere...
  • bgeorgebgeorge Posts: 1,652 Captain
Where I hunt in PA, LE is a regular sight. Have not gone a season without seeing them. As an out of state person we get looked at twice. Many people try to get out of paying for non resident license. At $102 for small game, spring and fall turkey and gun season deer, it is a good deal compared to other States.

Worth repeating!....Florida's Public Hunting Land preservation program based in part on long established conservation/hunt history "up North".

Perhaps we could start a thread highlighting Florida lands that coulda' / shoulda' gone to state land purchase/WMA but instead went to development........
Hunters are present yet relatively uncommon in Florida :wink
