Hunting lease

Team Lady DiTeam Lady Di Posts: 2 Greenhorn
My neighbor is looking for three members to fill his hunting lease near Fisheating Creek (Palmdale, Florida) this coming season. The lease is 3,900 acres and will have no more than 8 members maximum.

This is mainly an archery lease, with shotguns allowed for spring gobbler and bird hunting (dove, quail, snipe, etc. ). Also, muzzle loaders are allowed for the brief state muzzle loading season. Other than that it is archery only. There is electric and a well on the lease, which members can hook their camps up to. Hog, deer and turkey populations are excellent. Presently, we are in our 9th year as an archery lease.

Membership, with a full lease, will be $7,315.87 per member. This is a is a high quality lease with very good members.

Interested individuals can call Don at: 305-304-3791 or send an e-mail to: [email protected]

YES TRT the panthers have shown up. My lease is just a few miles south and we have had panthers for a few years now.

I also remember when it was a Mgt Area. Then Curt Cowdy leased it and a few others after him. Now it is a bow only lease.

I am about to get off my lease it hurts because I have been on it for 9 straight years. But we have lost 4 members and the cost per member is going to be WOW. So I maybe driving to JawJaw with the rest of yall.

Yes, the panthers have shown up on this lease. We are about 4 miles north of Fisheating Creek, where it crosses 27. It is not one lf the Hackletrap leases, but it is a Lykes lease called Squirrel Island North. I believe it was a state management area at one time as I find the old yellow/orange game commission signs on old fence posts.
It is a good lease, especially if you like to bow hunt. Pricey, I know, but I will never own enough land in South Florida to hunt so it will always be leases.

I am with you. My friends tell me with all the money you spend on leases you can buy your own land. Sure I can maybe 150 acres 10 hours away.

I think most of the good leases in the Palmdale area are around that price range--some much higher. We live in South Florida where hunting land demands a premium price. I live even further south than you. Still, I can get up in the morning, and if the wind is blowing too hard to work on the water--I can head to the woods and be sitting in a stand that afternoon. The leases are less expensive further north, but by the time you figure in the price of gas, time driving, etc., it is not worth it to me. Ours is an excellent lease, and I will try to hang on to it as long as I can.

Amen you are preaching to the choir. I have lived in So Florida all of my life and as I grew older I quickly realized that either I pay or I drive. And since I currently make enough money where my time is much too valuable to spend on the highway I pay. My lease is even higher that yours so I am with you 1000%.

Many on here dont understand and when if I was much younger making much less I did not understand how some guys can pay as much as some pay for their mortgages. But I do now. Here is a funny but sad story. Back in the 90s I knew a group from South Florida that had a lease on the Rollins Ranch they paid $10,000 a piece. Back then the place was a hunters dream. When I saw a post on here showing open leases on Rollins I quickly made an appointment. I spent a full day and didnt see a deer the prices have not dropped but the game is gone. The last I heard they had leased almost all of the land. Goes to show that the demand is still outweighing the supply in Florida.
