Playing catch up again

I have been very blessed in 2014 to have my busiest start to any year since I have been in the guide business. I have had some great days out there so far and also some very tough ones. As I stated in another thread I personally have had a difficult time developing a day to day pattern, though it is getting much better lately. I have targeted every fish in our water on one day or the other and for the majority of those trips found them, though many half day trips became full day ones. Live shrimp are the bulk of my day to day offerings. I can preorder exactly what I want, and don't waste customer time looking for bait in times of hard winds. A live shrimp on a 2/0 circle with a split shot will catch anything that swims. Though you sometimes have to pick thru the millions of snapper that are around, but trade that snapper for a ladyfish chunk and your on your way. As the summer shrimp change happens I then will switch to white bait until fall. Had some good trout bites lately with some big fish in the mix, Redfish have been my nemesis with slot fish being a rarity but we are catching a few mostly in the backcountry. I have yet to see a single tripletail this year. These are one of my favorite fish to target and this has had me disappointed every time I ran a trap line. But that's the game. Lots of tarpon around this year, had a trout trip about two months ago and couldn't keep the tarpon off my live shrimp and popping corks. Always a good problem to have I guess. 7u8u6yhu.jpgde7y9uqu.jpghytety2u.jpgu9y6ymav.jpgsuheqy5u.jpgega4any5.jpgqy2e8uva.jpgba4a5ype.jpgerapemyj.jpgyzy9yhet.jpgyby3ame5.jpgny3e9ugy.jpge3egapej.jpgna5u4e5u.jpgeqepuvy6.jpgja8eresa.jpgju6ajyta.jpgqu7y2emu.jpg
Had the honor of having a writer/photographer aboard this week for a story he's doing on our area, a one day window to get some photo worthy fish. Horrible winds, big seas but the gulf blessed us with some beautiful fish. Overslot reds, and snook, fat snapper, slot snook and cobia all came to play. All were released in good shape and were handled with great care, after just getting their pictures taken. emebuseh.jpge3avytub.jpg7eryqery.jpg8ahapeba.jpgety6eqe3.jpgbedu3a5a.jpgynupa4ur.jpg
As soon as this wind lays down its gonna be a banner year. As always if I can ever help any of you don't hesitate to ask, and if you see me out there give me a yell.
