Jameis "Crab legs" Winston was sentenced to 20 hours community service. He was mopping floors at the WMCA.
He has been reinstated to the Florida State baseball team.

The article does not mention the WMCA at all?

    Of course you were...

How did you feel about Chris "Time 2 die" Rainey?

Did you demand the same sort of punishment?

I heard that part on the radio yesterday. I assumed it was fact.....who knows? I suspect that if you dig deep enough you will find it is.

I was curious as to what the "W"MCA was? :rotflmao

The Y makes much more sense.

Jameis Winston had a “good attitude” while mopping, cleaning and doing other custodial work at the North West YMCA in Tallahassee, Fla. this weekend, as he completed his 20 hours of community service for shoplifting $32.72 worth of seafood from a local grocery store.

Ray Purvis, the Capital Region YMCA president and CEO, confirmed an initial TMZ report that the Heisman Trophy winner did janitorial work for five hours for four straight days, last Thursday through Sunday.

“In talking with the staff that supervised his experience, he did some cleaning, mopping, some general cleanup, custodial kinds of activities, and he interacted with some of our members on the fitness floor, and by all accounts was well received,” Purvis said. “My staff person tells me he came in and had a good attitude and performed the community service and completed that obligation.”

Last week, the Florida State quarterback and pitcher was cited for shoplifting at a Publix grocery store. Following the ordeal, he was kicked off the baseball team. Though Winston wasn’t arrested for theft, Publix and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office agreed to let him enter a pre-trial diversion program that required him to complete 20 hours of community service.

With the community service complete, FSU baseball coach Mike Martin has reinstated Winston.

‘We are certainly very glad that Jameis chose to come to the Y,” Purvis said. “There are a lot of connections obviously in our community between most of the community service organizations and Florida State, so we’re just glad that we were there and glad that he was able to get that out of the way.”

But he did not, am I correct?

Let's not try and pretend like this type of scenario (big time athletes not getting the book thrown at them) doesn't occur all over the country. Is it right? Nope. However, it's not like you can pretend that there were far more serious ARRESTS and CHARGES that were swept under the rug at UF, the SEC, PAC, B1G10, BIG12, etc etc

You can believe whatever you want about the **** claim and accusations. That is your own opinion in which you're 100% entitled to. I'm solely speaking on the subject of actual arrests/charges/convictions of athletes.

Is "jitterbug" politically correct now? I'm sorry if I offended anybody by using different terminology in the past.

We do know for a FACT he has lied about this incident. Security footage shows he intentionally avoided the security, to leave with the stolen property.

Another major flaw in his sketchy character.

Oh...really? Have you seen the footage?

As he was leaving the store, Winston appeared to pause in front of a Leon County deputy who was working in-store security detail at the time. The pause, the incident report said, appeared to be an attempt to avoid walking in front of the deputy. He said Winston then walked behind the deputy, past all registers and out of the store.
This is only one investigator's interpretation of the events, it must be noted, and one investigator making inferences based on body language. It must also be noted that these two "sides" of the story are not necessarily mutually exclusive: one can be uncomfortable with law enforcement officers without recently knowingly committing a crime.

    http://www.sbnation.com/2014/5/5/5685226/jameis-winston-crab-legs-incident

A lot of what has been reported on the incident does not add up.

What we do know is: He walked out of publix w/o paying for crab legs, was cited for shoplifting, went into the diversion program, suspended from baseball team, did 20 hours of service and has now been reinstated.

I'm not saying he doesn't have any issues, it's just I'm not so quick to believe what half of these guys write. A lot of them write solely for clicks, and sometimes it can be very obvious. When I see the footage myself, then we'll talk.

Either way, FSU needs a babysitter for our QB ASAP.

Zimm, this paragraph kind of backs up what up slw210 is saying. When you steal something, you want law enforcement in front of you, not behind you to study what you are doing. I really don't care at this point but that's the way this reads. Kind of like letting the cop go in front when you license tag is expired.

But more importantly, was the deputy a jitterbug?

I'm really curious about Longhaul's definition - He's always tossing it out there. Can a white kid be a "jitterbug" or is it just a black thing?

Zach Mettenberger ring a bell? QB for LSU, threw for nearly 3,000 yards last year?

Plead guilty to sexual assault, transferred to LSU, and is going to get drafted this weekend. Everyone seems to forget that.

Don't even get me started on the Gata: DUI? 50 hours community service. Stealing a car from an impound lot? Stripped of being a captain. :rotflmao

So you list every other big conference and give two SEC examples.

    I don't know why I'm surprised.
