I figured I'd post since it will help me track slams # 21 and 22.
Sunday was just as hard as my trip with Dupont..wound up catching two Reds and two Snook with only one of the Reds being a nice mid slot.
Monday was more of the same. Wound up catching the same two Reds and two snook..except that I got a "trash can slam"...first of the year for me. I caught a pretty nice 5 + lb jack in the dark and a ladyfish. Later in the morning I was tossing bait and caught the ever elusive catfish.
It has been brutally warm out and I knew I had to make a tactics change. Tuesday, I left about 30- 40 min before my normal time and was tossing plastic in the dark with only the slightest hint of a lightening eastern horizon. First fish is a snook and at my next spot I pull a nice mid slot trout...I'm encouraged now with a good amount of time to seal the deal with a Red. Well, At 7:40 I have a little red and the slam is done...#21...I wound up fishing another spot and got two more Reds with one a fat pumpkin of 26 1/4 inches...

At the ramp at 8:30...windy and hot!
Today, I am even more convinced that my strategy change is solid and leave early again. I miss my first bite but catch a ladyfish right after that. The next spot is the one who gives me a nice mid slot trout...same place as yesterday. I'm a little worried that with tomorrow being the opening of commercial trout fishing..it may be the end of the trout spot.
Ran south into a pretty busy wind but get in my spot with a little wind shadow...second cast is a small snook.. a few casts later i land this one...

and shortly after I hook up a nice fish..fights like a good Red but it pulls loose :banghead...
Reposition and get another snook and 4 casts later..Bingo...a little fella but slam #22

I picked off a few more snook and broke a nice one off in the mangroves...Finished with 5 snook 1 Red and 1 trout...at the ramp at 9 AM...:)
