Hard to believe as the SEC already has the most demanding schedule in CFB.
Starting in 2016 SEC teams will have trade a cupcake for a "power" conference foe.
I like the move.

What schools are they adding to their OOC schedules? Team by team or conference wide?
Florida already has FSU annually so they don't need to do anything.
Ok...so count the Gata as having the mighty ACC as their toughest OOC opponent. Check!
Holy...Cow! this is groundbreaking news!
"Starting in 2016, each school will have to play at least one opponent from either the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten or Pac-12."
Thank goodness the Sec is stepping up after last years embarrassing title loss to the ACC.
SEC...SEC...SEC :rotflmao
The title game was for SEC fans. That's what I posted.

I said the SEC as a whole will improve their SOS. This rule change will directly affect some and indirectly affect the rest of the SEC. Some teams like UF, UGA, SC and others already have an annual OC game vs a team in a "power" conference. Teams like Vandy and Ole Miss do not play an OC game vs a team in a "power" conference. That will change in 2016 improving their SOS and indirectly improving teams that Vandy plays SOS, like UF.
Me too, but it does take away the big paydays that the small schools count on every year.
The system will slowly start moving away from that as we shift towards 4-5 mega conferences, it's only a matter of time IMHO.
BTW: The SEC doesn't need to increase it's SOS, they already run a gauntlet each and every season. If a team goes undefeated in the SEC and plays a normal 8 game conference schedule, then they deserve to be in the playoffs/title game IMHO. The SEC champ will always have a place in a 4 team playoff (or should) in my opinion. When you win the toughest conference in all the land, then you deserve a shot. Even if that means a few easy wins vs the bottom feeders of the SEC, such as the 4-8 Gata last season :grin

Yes the SEC champ will always have a spot in the 4 but improving SOS w/ quality OC foes will increase the chance of a second team from the SEC getting into the playoff.
As long as it's a 4 team playoff, 2 teams from the SEC will never be in the 4 team playoff in my opinion. When it expands, to 8 or possibly 16...then absolutely. Also, if they introduce a few more teams (aka wild card rounds) like the NFL then I could see it happening. For now though?
Keep dreaming.

2012 is on line 1 for you.
I'm referring to the NEW playoff system, bro.
The BCS is dead. Although I believe without a doubt that Bama and LSU deserved that rematch. It was the worst BCS game of recent memory, next to ND getting **** by Bama (they should have never been there though)

2 teams from the SEC is VERY possible. Sorry to burst your bubble.
UF and Vandy.
Dupe says the four and eighters and Vandy are two of the teams that make the first four team championship playoff.
Holy crap!
So are you... :wink
