campgrounds around Bainbridge and Panacea

Good friend going to take a couple weeks(retirement is nice) and travel Fla.to start he thinking of easing down hwy 27 to Bainbridge.he is wondering how the state park campground is,since this would be the first stopping point.next day they will go down to a campground I belive is close to Angelo's at foot of O bridge.

Not sure if he would have any interest but the state park near Sopchoppy on the Ocklocknee is a nice park. Not really "coastal" but if he has a boat the river around there is beautiful.

Holiday Campground is right across the street from Angelis. Also has a fishing pier. Highly recommend it.

Thanks JKP.no boat,they have a tag along trailer.will pass along info.their plan is northwest,homasssasa down to glades and then key largo.back up to St Marks or Panacea and leave camper down thru summer.

thank you,that is 1 he saw online and wants to stay a couple of days and maybe rent a spot all summer.

State park is 15-20 miles west of 27. It's ok but it's out in the middle of nowhere. On 27 there is a Campground at the boat basin near the Flint river bridge. There is also a campground on the river at the marina and across the street from the marina. Hales landing is also a popular campground.

Walmart parking lot also seems popular.

Manatee springs campground ...
Is just. About 3 miles west of chiefland.
Off of hwy 19.
during the weekdays it's ultimate solitude.
You're likely one out o two people there.
I highly reccomend this place near homosassa.
