Ballyhoo in the river?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

A buddy and I were headed out of Sebastian yesterday and on our way to the inlet we saw a school of bait on the surface. He threw the castnet on it and got about a half dozen small ballies. :huh Has anyone else ever seen Ballyhoo in the river?

Yeah occasionally you can get them right near the sandbar where people hang out...

These guys were lost they were closer to Christenson's Ramp than they were to the inlet.

Ive seen it off canaverl, but there always small. Never seen any bigger than 8".

I see them sometimes in the shrimp lights when I shrimp by the causeways up here in NSB.

theyre all over the banana river right now.. youll see them frequently running from the trout tail walking the surface..

I see them commonly...when the water is clean they seem to be more plentiful...but as was said...they are usually small.

I have caught them at haulover canal some very large ones that first look like needlefish

Thanks for the replies guys. I just hadn't seen them in the river before. I guess I need to get out more. LOL and Duckman yeah the river was crystal clear that morning. I couldn't believe how clear it was.
