No tarpon to be seen between Venice Jetty and Stump Pass :(

Got to the ramp today just as the light was starting to be visible in the sky. Caught some finger mullet and headed to the jetty to run the beaches south. Ran all the way down almost to Stump Pass and didn't see a single tarpon. :idiot
Did find a few bait pods... caught some mackerel and jacks in them but nothing else. No idea what sort of bait they were... but they worked really well for snook under the bridges on the way back in. :)

Ended up with about a dozen snook on the day... all right around 20".
Few snapper mixed in there chasing lures bigger than they were.

Ramp was a zoo on the way out.

Tarpon... everything else is just bait.

Good and bad news, I suppose. I'm heading out Tues or Weds to run the beaches along Boca. Hopefully the Tarpon will start showing up.

Yeah they're in Boca for sure. Friend of mine jumped 7 and landed 4 last night. Of course when he and I went a few days ago we didn't see boo diddly.

That seems to be the most accurate Tarpon report; there are plenty when no one else is around!
