34 inch snook in 30+mph winds

Ran south out of choko on Wednesday after the front pushed thru. It was windy to say the least. Some bigger bays had a 2 ft chop in them. After running for a while we picked up a nice slot size red and missed a second one, missed a couple of snook then moved on to the next spot. After some searching I found the spot and I called it. Landed a 35 inch beauty to make the day. We got a bunch of trout all day as well. I've been running my new beavertail strike for 2 months and could not be more impressed. This thing floats shallow, runs shallow and cuts threw chop like nothing. I have yet to get wet on this boat. After running roughly 85 miles Wednesday I burnt less then a half tank of fuel. Out in 30kt winds and having a solid 2 ft chop this boat slices thru like nothing. Poles amazing and is stable. I love this boat more everyone I take her out.

Solid fish there...35 is a nice snook. Good lookin' redfish too. Were y'all throwing arties or live bait? Any size to the trout? It's been funny up my way, trout bite just hasn't been happening like it should be this time of year. Hopefully, we'll get some clean water soon. Nice day in the wind for sure.

All fish were on plugs. Trout were 14-20 nothing great.

What type of plugs were you using? I have been throwing mirrolure Lumo series for a few weeks now and have had decent luck. Some small snook and several trash can slams, nothing in the slots you posted. Im wondering if I need to throw a bigger plug for the bigger fish.

Just regular mirrodine's in various colors. Usually I will use various soft plastics as well and see what's working better and decide from there but due to the wind casting plugs was easiest.
