Sanibel area dog friendly rental/cottage/hotel recommendation

My girlfriend and I are planning a 3-4 day trip to the Sanibel area the first week in July, and we're taking her lab pup with us. Looking for any suggestions on dog friendly accommodations, beaches, and parks. Can be a VRBO type thing, a hotel that allows dogs, or something similar, but would prefer something close to the beach (especially one that has a few snook lurking around:wink).

Ping Gary (GSC). Buy as many Thermocells as you can get. Watch out for some other forum members. They'll do stuff like have fun, share secret fishing spots and (gasp) make sure you stay safe. :grin

Not sure on pet friendly rooms, but the bike trails are nice if you're into bike riding... We travel over to Sanibel every so often to ride the trails...
