Gordon Pass/ Kewaydin

Going to go hit Gordon's pass and the southern end of Keewaydin tomorrow night. Going to Target snook and Tarpon. Has anyone been catching bait off the marker out of Gordons? Any signs of large greenies yet? I have a pin fish trap at work and hope to get some medium to large size pins to toss out in the pass. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Keep us up to date on this. I hear Pompano has been hitting hard off Keewaydin in the shallow flats just south near the mouth of the Marco River. The Tarpon are still up in the backwater rivers and holes, although I did see some rolling in the **** Key pass two weeks ago just prior to the cold snap.

    Good Luck! Tight Lines!

The fishing was pretty slow on Friday. Made our way to the south end of Keewaydin about an hour past high tide. The water was murky and choppy and the current was ripping hard. Landed a few 21" - 23" snook and one monstro jack that felt like a I was fighting a sheet of plywood. No tarpon or pompano :shrug . after about two hours of drifting the pass we headed to Gordons pass and fished the lights. Caught a bunch of juvenile snook and mangroves. Chunked a few lady heads in the pass with no luck again. The highpoint of the night came around 10pm when a highly inebriated sailboat captain almost ran me over in the pass.:Glass After an exchange of a few choice phrases he proceed to tell us to meet him to the Naples dock and suck him off, Very classy to say the least. Overall a little disappointed but still a good night out on the water. Hope these fronts will slow down and the fishing starts to turn on.

Ahh yes, this is why I stay out of the "Jungle" as I like to call it. Good times when summer hits! GO HOME!

Glad you didn't get hit. Sound fun for the most part.

    Thanks for the update!
