Need advice on Camping locations, Beach/Islands

Hey there West Coast friends,
I also posted this in another forum, but I'm really interested in learning more about this region as well.

I have never been anywhere south of the Skyway Bridge on the West coast and was looking to do some camping/fishing next week for the kid's spring break. I'm from the East Coast and have camped and fished off many of the Clinker Islands in the Indian River Lagoon System. I was wondering if there were any places that might resemble this type of atmosphere. I'm looking to possibly rough it, so no need for electrical or water... but I do have to add that the mom is coming too. So we might need an area where there are bathrooms and running water available. I was hoping to find some great areas on the beaches, and maybe some of the key Islands that are in this region. On google map I saw so many really cool spots but I lack the information needed to make the planned trip. This is going to be an exploring type trip. I was going to bring the Gheenoe, so any ramps nearby would be awesome too!

Thank you for the help!

There are a bunch of state parks that offer great camping and boating all along the west coast. Koreshan state park in Estero and Seminole State park in the everglades are both nice. Seminole has a great facility with water and electric hookups and has a boat ramp on site that puts you into some great backwater mangrove forests. The bugs are manageable now but don't wait, a month or two from now it can be unbearable. You can also check into the ENP and camp on any of their primitive camp sites in some of the most beautiful places you will ever see. This is great for exploring and fishing but not necessarily the place for mom or small kids, it is remote and very primitive. Hope this helps.
