Advice for fishing in Bonita

I am down on spring break with visting my grandparents. We have been fishing this week with shrimp on a jig but we haven't been catching much besides catfish. We have been fishing mostly in the intrepid waters area. I was wondering if anybody had any advice on what kind of bait/set up to use and good locations around.

not sure where Intrepid Waters is but any of the passes around Bonita including Hickory and Carlos passes should be producing a good mixed bight. Live shrimp and soft plastics worked with the current will be the most productive. You can gain access to the majority of theses passes by parking near the bridges and walking.

Try the east side near the Bonita Bay pier. The flat on the north side of Broadway is good as is the flat on the outside of Weeks. But there are no fish there.
