Little Afternoon Peacock.

Just getting over a cold and finished a big Physics exam today. Thought I'd do a little fishing by the house:

I still have a doubt if buy a FW license to try peacocks on foot during my Miami staying....
Could I have any chance without knowing spots ?

To fish freshwater off land you have to buy a $0.00 license if I'm not mistaken.

Go anywhere in Broward county, look in canals for nesting Peacock, you're bound to find a few. But please only catch one off the bed so the other may protect the fry. Chances some other ******* will come and ruin your effort, but it's their bad karma not yours.

If I'm not wrong as foreign I have to buy a license (3 or 7 days); I agree with this policy, that's right.

I'll come in Miami in early May. Are they spawning in that time ?

Last time I renewed my license I was told to fish from land (strictly freshwater) it's a free license. Maybe she was mistaken. lol

I was thinking of the saltwater shoreline license. That's the one that's free. Sorry for the confusion.

    Perfect thanks.
That should mean that on early May they've already finished spawn (so I shouldn't mistake accidentally).

I'll come with family for a brief spring vacation, on early May.
But considering the fishing opportunities I could forget wife and kids at home :grin..

Haha. Just eighty-seven an exam on conservation of energy. Things are looking up. :) lol

Forgetting the wife and kids at home could be disastrous upon return there, Ballak.

Drag was smooth as butter. Left the mom safely on the nest.

If true, this place is like -5 minutes away from where I live. lol - It's nothing great, catch a Peacock there once every 6 months, but it's close to home so I stop by and take a peek once in a while.

I sure miss seeing these bad boys up on the north Broward line. Used to watch them pack hunt from the upstairs bathroom window before the winter of 2010. Anyone know how far up they have got back to? Anyone catching them in the c14 or in Margate? They were my sole reason to fly fish. I have seen some unusual activity lately and sure hope its Pea's.

As I was fishing Coral Spring canals last week, a local came out to greet us, we chatted him up a bit. Said he used to toss lures out from his backyard and hook up to Peacock and Largemouth daily. Not so much anymore he claims. Blames the Snakeheads.
