FSU vs uf Series Extended until 2018
The university of florida and Florida State University have signed an
agreement to extend their annual meeting on the football field through
the 2018 season. The current contract expires after the 2014 season.
The 2015 and 2017 meetings will be hosted by the gators in Gainesville, while the 2016 and 2018 games will be in Tallahassee.
florida has also agreed to terms with East Carolina on a one-game contract. uf will host the Pirates on Sept. 12, 2015.

The amount of revenue each school and local business district derives from these annual games (when hosting) is massive. Don't forget all the people who head out to bars and eating establishments to watch it on TV as an away game.

Magot -- you know what I what I mean. UF should never had lost to them but they are not the team you want on your schedule anytime-- period. I saw that game last August as a problem -- never assumed a loss but that triple option is very tough to defend when you only see it one time. I doubt you will ever see UF schedule a triple option team ever again

That is good news. My 2 Alma Maters finally play. Will have to plan to attend that one. ECU is not a bad team. They came into FL and beat Miami a while back.

Hurricane's fans use to think that way too. Don't underestimate the cowardice of the Gatta. If FSU continues to dominate them through this contract they'll find a excuse to bail just like they did on the 'Canes series.

It's already started. That's why it only goes through 2018.
In 2009 (the end of the Bowden Era, and perhaps one of the straws that broke the back) was a 14-7 loss at home. B.J. Daniels came in and ran all over FSU, having the game of his life. It was pitiful, I was a junior at FSU and had multiple friends come up from the Tampa area (USF students at the time) and that was a terrible weekend for us.
Anything from that time period is still an open wound as far as I'm concerned. The salt was rubbed into them for a few years, since Jimbo has taken over as HC he has placed "band-aids" over these wounds. It was a tough time to be an FSU student from 2006-2010. I believe it makes me a better fan, and alumni having gone through the end of the Lost Decade.
We're different, we're back....literally. Evidenced by all the baby steps we took in order to get to what we accomplished last season. Every year Jimbo has been HC we have improved upon the previous season.

We would just remove another OOC game, to make room for the UF game. That, or they would reduce all conf. games # by one to make room for the rivalry games.
Do you seriously believe they will do away with all rivalry games?!? I'm not tlaking about the in conf. rivalries( Bama vs Auburn, OSU vs Mich etc) What about USC vs ND? Texas vs Texas A&M? Kansas vs Mizzou? Clemson vs USCe? UGA vs GT?
Please, elaborate on how FSU vs UF will go away just like the rest of these age old rivalries?

I'm confused as to where you're trying to go with this.
Just like the $$$ from FSU or UF being in town far surpasses the other OOC or additional (and unnecessary) out of division conf. games we play.

I was implying especially as a moderator that you must realize why he posts 90% of what he posts in here.
