How/where to sell contents of Vacation Home, we have sold home. Port Charlotte!

We just got a cash sale contract on our Port Charlotte home we had enjoyed on week-ends. Where or how do we go about selling large ticket items? Deal is we live 2hours away, so Craigslist may not work as limited to weekend sales and we are not into garage sales. We rather not load up a bunch of stuff just to bring home to store. We could donate, but the reason to sell our week-end get away was/is to raise monies. Thanks for you constructive thoughts! Tomm

Hire a company in that area to have an estate sale for you....just let them handle it. You may have to meet them to set pricing in a one time visit....but then let them have at it on a Friday, Sat, Sunday....

Come Monday if anything's left over, it probably isn't worth much to sell, then you can donate those items.

Estate sales pay pennies on the dollar for most stuff unless really good stuff....

I'd list on craigslist with good photos, and set one day to have the items available when you are there...almost like a garage sale...

Also list it in the classifieds, list the main items with prices...

Then after that, hire an estate sale...perhaps an auctioneer

maybe the stuff is junk, I don't know.

the buyers could have asked for the contents to be included.

Buyers had their own cole tables! We had offered contents if wanted. Not a lot of stuff, king sleep no. Bed, nice leather couch, kids room new twin beds with matching wicker furniture. Etc....

I am potentially faced with the same problem. I have a whole house full of furniture that I may or may not need or be able to take with me. Best I have seen so far, is a consignment place for the larger items, like bedroom and dining room suites. I don't think estate sales are allowed in my HOA...but I need to check on that.
