Im in the same boat you are never having cought one. I have also inquired on this board about some locations. No one seems to want to give anything other than vague references to places that don't seem to have good populations. The best I can tell you is that Miami airport lakes seems to be the most likely spot.
I guess im just going to go blind ! If I dont find peacocks
I'll find something yall can bet on that !
thanx for trying to help !!! When no one else will !!!
THANX JOE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SEA YA ....

Btw . Great fish guys !!!!
Peacock Bass are only found on eastern Miami-Dade, Broward and southern Palm Beach counties. As far as I know there are none on the west coast. Even here, in the SE, they seem to be confined to the manmade canals and lakes due to their intolerance for colder waters, so the further west you go, the less abundant they become.
I just moved here a year ago and so far have only found a couple of spots in Boca and Delray Beach with peacocks. Years ago I remember catching some in Pompano as well. You'll need to find well-oxygenated, clear waters and if they're there, you'll notice: they push fish against the shallows and just explode them! Peacocks feed only on fish, so no point in trying worms, frogs, lizards and the sort. I grew up chasing them in Venezuela, but it's still somewhat of a mystery to me where to find them here in Florida; I can't seem to read the waters yet...
Anyway, good luck! Here's my best catch to date -on a fly.
